Laying the Groundwork

The home itself is a 3,000+ square foot mid-century modern on a prime piece of Texas real estate. However, the backyard needed a makeover to match the beautiful interior the couple created.

“We have worked with Belgard on past projects using a variety of their products in other renovations, so we were confident in the quality and craftsmanship we would receive,” said Chayce. “We were really excited to work with the Belgard Design Studio team to incorporate new ideas in outdoor living and couldn’t wait to see what they came up with.” Vice President of Design at Oldcastle APG, Joe Raboine, worked with Chayce and theBelgard Design Studioteam to create a fully functional, multi-room outdoor living area. After meeting with Chayce, the design team understood its mission: to incorporate outdoor cooking and dining, as well as entertainment space, all designed around a stunning pool and spa. With this goal in mind, the team went to work using multiple Oldcastle APG products.

Implementing the Products

Chayce and Hannah wanted their outdoor space to have a modern look and feel, so they chose a number of Belgard hardscapes to create a very sleek and cohesive look that made for a striking façade. For the decking featured in the outdoor kitchen and dining areas, the team usedMoistureShield composite decking products are made from recyclable materials and featureCoolDeck® technology– perfect for handling the Texas heat. In addition to traditional decking, the products were also used in the cladding around the outdoor kitchen and outdoor shower.

Elements Home Products Bring the Design Together

A variety of Elements Home products and accessories were chosen to bring the outdoor kitchen area together. Multiple cooking options were used to anchor the kitchen area including a Gas Grill, Built-in Outdoor Oven, and Side Burner. Stainless Steel appliances such as a Compact Refrigerator and Sink, as well as multiple Storage Accessories all add traditional indoor amenities to the outdoor space. A swim up bar features a variety of Elements Home amenities including aBeverage and Prep StationandOutdoor Refrigerator.

Outside of the kitchen area, Elements Home provided Horizontal Vinyl Fencing, Decorative Screen Panels and an aluminum Pergola for privacy and decorative accents. “Privacy and safety were a top priority for us, especially with our little one around,” said Chayse. “The fencing, railing, and outdoor privacy products we chose perfectly matched our style. The fencing creates a great barrier between our yard and the neighbors. We added black decorative panels around the outdoor living room and fireplace for privacy and love how the color tones play within the space. The fencing adds some lightness and warmth, while the panels around the fireplace create a bit of a contrast with the Belgard hardscapes.”

The Blank Slate Reno project is a testament to the full range of outdoor living solutions available from the Oldcastle APG family of brands and Elements Home was proud to be a part of it.

“The ability to use all Oldcastle APG products in this design really made things more efficient and kept our design as cohesive as possible,” says Chayce. “It was amazing to have a partner that is truly a one-stop for all the outdoor living products we needed to bring this backyard to life.”
